The “JUNEX 2011” Trade Fair of children’s goods and services and the “Yabloko” Family Fun Festival took place in Almaty on June 4 and 5. Over 1200 Almaty residents and city visitors attended the event.

The project was dedicated to the International Day of Children Protection on June 1st.
The official support to the project was provided by the Almaty city administration and the Almaty Department of Culture.
The events were organized by the leading local events company the “Expo.kz” LLP. The “Ritz-Palace” TEC acted as the General partner of the project.
 
The “JUNEX 2011” Trade Fair of goods and services for children was held for the first time in Kazakhstan. Its uniqueness was expressed by the fact that a single platform offered a wide array of children’s goods and services. Kazakhstan’s mothers and fathers had an opportunity to combine pleasure and usefulness, and buy the best and environmentally safe products for their children.
As noted by the General Director of “Expo.kz” LLP Ms. Dilyara Ibragimova, “the JUNEX 2011 event is one of rare platforms where one can find organic cosmetics, furniture, and toys for children. The “JUNEX” Trade Fair will be held annually and thus promote the development of children’s goods and services sector in Kazakhstan. Besides, it represents an opportunity for local and international producers of children’s goods introduce their products to the people”.
Sixteen different companies representing goods from Kazakhstan, Russia and Europe participated in the trade fair. For example, they included the brands such as Desiderio furniture club, Bio-butik Telli, APS Investment, “Karapuz” LLP, Baby-in-Car.kz, “Timing” LLP, “Yerke” Detskij mir”, and others.

The Fair was represented the following segments:

• Hygiene and cosmetics
• Clothes, shoes and accessories
• Furniture and interior pieces
• Games and toys for education and development
• Children’s safety
• Nutrition

Besides, within the already traditional 7th “Yabloko” Family Fun Festival took place within the “JUNEX” Fair.
This project is held annually in Almaty and has become very popular among the city dwellers. During the “Yabloko” the youngest visitors together with their parents had a chance to participate in workshops and try themselves as artists, photographers, a famous singer or a dancer and find out more about the rules of hiking and gardening.
The workshops were classified into 29 areas and some of these contained even more directions. For instance, the “Hatha Yoga” or self-discovery for adult visitors, breathing techniques, the Kundalini Yoga, and children’s yoga play. As admitted by some parents, the “Yabloko” gave them a major charge of energy and optimism.
The lessons were guided by special trainers who taught children and adults singing and dancing to live music, sculpt, paint, learn the rules of hiking, playing ethnic drums, sewing in a studio, plant art trees and enjoy every minute of the celebration. The trainers helped the participants of the Festival to create their own program for 92 days of summer happiness!
A separate tasting of the most favorite delicacy – the ice-cream – was organized separately. Kids could taste many kinds of ice-cream. As a result, the delight and joy of kids, and adults themselves during the tasting had no limit.

The organizers gave much attention to children growing up in orphanages. Thus, 10 orphans from the “Kovcheg” orphanage and 14 children with autism via the “AshykAlem” SF were specially invited to the events.
As emphasized by D. Ibragimova, “It’s important to include children without parents to the celebration of the Childhood Day. The “Yabloko” is one of the most loved holidays by the people of Almaty; therefore our main goal is for all children to benefit from it. We have intentionally invited the orphans so that they have a chance to be surrounded by the festive environment and for several hours feel themselves as part of a big family”.
Upon the results of the events the funds from ticket sales will be transferred to the account of one of the orphanages of Almaty.
